2pm: The annual James Connolly memorial seminar takes place today at room 1041, GMIT, ‘Does Ownership of the Means of Production matter in the 21st Century’ with Dr Tom Turner from UL.
8pm: There Is Bear theatre company presents ‘No Show’ – a comedic farce with big showband numbers at the Mick Lally Theatre, Druid Lane.
8pm: The Blue Teapot Theatre company presents Sanctuary at the Town Hall Theatre after its sell out run at the Dublin Fringe Festival and Galway Arts Festival last year.
8:30pm: It’s a telly thing, however Galway features on RTE tonight as part of the Science Squad. They will look at the developments in stem cell research in Galway and find out how researchers can now re-programme adult stem cells backwards to enable them to act like embryonic stem cells.
7pm: Dance Fusion Bootcamp takes place at Barna National School this evening.
9pm: Enjoy trad music, singing and dancing at Barr an Chaladh, Woodquay.
9pm: The Cellar bar is host to Play, where musicians can jam with support from a backing band in this open night with a difference. All welcome.
9:30pm: Catch the best of swingin’ tunes by the Black Magic Big Band at Busker Brownes on Cross Street.
9:30pm: A traditional Irish music session takes place at the Crane bar on Sea Road with Freda Hatton and Kevin Whelan.
