Who is Phyllis Daly ? Phyllis Daly is a professional job-seeker turned philanthropist from Limerick who is well known for her charitable fundraising. She is a single hardworking volunteer who is one of three children, with one sister and one brother and is a full time carer for her mum. Phyllis is a Virgo and is very spiritual in her beliefs.
What charitable work has Phyllis done? The first time Phyllis stepped on stage was at a fundraiser in the Loughrea hotel. This was where her work as a fundraiser began. Phyllis hosted a fundraiser for GAP - Galway Autism Partnership in Jan 2014 at the Clayton. Over €13k was raised for the charity with over 1,000 in attendance.
She has hosted numerous other fundraising events for charities such as Alzheimers Association, Console, Croi heart foundation, Parkinsons ,Clayton Corporate events, a Night for Tomas at Flannerys and Merlin woods primary school fashion show - raising over €6k for play equipment. And thats just the tip of the iceberg!
Where is Phyllis now? Phyllis is visiting her sister who lives in New Zealand. She is on a one year holiday visa but will be back in Ireland soon to do more work here.
What do you want to say to all those who love you and love what you do for the galway community? As a woman, I have always felt the inner need to help people. It is my calling in life! I have never felt so loved and appreciated anywhere as I have in Galway. All I can wish is that everyone in Galway will try to help others as I do and remember to have fun and don't take yourself too seriously. I love you with all my heart and will be back soon for more craic with a fabulous bunch of people.
