Fashion Show for Positive Mental Health in Spiddal
Positive Mental Health Galway are delighted to be teaming up with family run business, Standuns of Spiddal, founded in 1946, in Connemara, Co Galway, for a Charity Fashion Show as part of the Charity’s 10 year birthday celebrations. It will take place on Friday June 26th, at 7.30pm at Standuns with drinks reception and nibbles from 7.00pm. There will be entertainment at the Interval with fantastic raffle prizes to be won.
Positive Mental Health was set up in 2005, by Charity Chairperson, Violet Gavin, a retired career guidance teacher, to turn the tide of negativity, stigma, guilt and shame surrounding mental illness and advance the hope that these be replaced by positive attitudes leading to good mental health and emotional welfare.
Positive Mental Health has been promoting teen mental health in the West of Ireland since 2005, through a 7 week mental health programme and specialist once off bullying workshops to secondary school students to challenge stigma and empower them.
Lots of local personalities will be taking to the fashion runway on the night as well as professional models from Roza Model Agency. They will showcase the very best of Irish and International fashion available at Standuns, as well as showcasing millinery from Galway based milliner Edel Ramberg, whose headpiece won best hat at Ladies Day at the2014 Galway Races as well as sunglasses from Galway based Richard Hughes Opticians.
Tickets are priced at 10 Euros and are now on sale for what promises to be a fun filled fashion fiesta!
