Welcome to the 41st edition of the Craic in Galway magazine. Love is in the air as cupid’s bow is hurtling towards us with the onset of Valentine’s Day. Like it or loathe it, you can’t escape its clutches - as the 99 (thousand) red balloons, red roses and red faces will fly high over Galway bay. To help you out, we have enlisted the notorious Galway Player, who brings his own brand of quality dating advice for all of you lovelorn men out there. For the less cynical, Tuam poet Ryan Mangan has penned a few creative lines about love in our city - especially for you - our Craic in Galway readers. I have a love/hate relationship with the Hallmark holiday. I want to ignore it, want to hide away from its grasp, and yet will be the very one to be devastated if I don’t receive a Valentine’s card. And flowers. And balloons. For something that bit different, a new dance documentary is being launched on February 14th in the Galway Rowing Club, adding another string to Kamil Krolak’s bow.
