2pm: A workshop looking at Recruitment Posters of the Great War 1914-1918 takes place at the Galway City Museum. Learn about the techniques used in recruitment posters to persuade Irishmen to enlist. Afterwards design your own poster. Age 14 – 18
8pm: Catalpa - the story of the 1876 whaleship rescue of six Irish prisoners from Fremantle penal colony in Western Australia – takes place at the Town Hall Theatre. Described as lyrical and passionate, satirical and very funny by the Irish Times.
8pm: Mary Black is in concert this evening at Seapoint Ballroom, Salthill.

9pm: The Dirty Circus presents; The Squidling Brothers Circus Sideshow at Monroe’s Live.

Midnight: Texas-born songwriter Jarrod Dickenson’s slightly spooky melodies and words evoke a mid-Western post-war America at Monroe’s Live.
