10am: A 3D modelling and stop animation workshop takes place at Beechmount Art Studio, Lackagh, Turloughmore today with family discounts available.

11am: Find out about Neolithic farmers in Ireland and how they lived with archaeologist Anne Carey at the Galway City Museum. Age 7 – 12.

1pm: An Arts in Action event: Nell Ní Chróinín & Lillis Ó Laoire takes place at The Cube, Áras na Mac Léinn, NUIG.

3pm: A tour of the archives and special collections takes place at the Hardiman Library, NUIG. Discover the 'Performing Ireland' Abbey Theatre Digital Archive exhibition and learn more about the rich treasures and unique collections of the library, dating from the 15th Century to present day.

7pm: Distinguished poet, writer, and editor, Theo Dorgan, gives a talk at the Galway City Museum entitled The Brutal Truth, The Slaughter Of The Poor. He will explore the horrors experienced by soldiers in the trenches, as recounted by Aran-born writer Liam O’Flaherty in his 1929 novel The Return Of The Brute.

8pm: Decadent Theatre Company presents the Irish Premiere of The Pillowman by Martin McDonagh. The play opens in a prison cell, where a young writer is questioned about the grim tales he has written.

9pm: Slow Club, indie-pop duo Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor, will gig at the Roisin Dubh on Dominick Street tonight.

10pm: The Widowed Persons Society organise Social Dancing every Thursday night at the Galway Bay Hotel Salthill.
